Merge PDFs without uploading them

When a form, a landlord, or a client wants one PDF and you have three, open Merge PDF. The combine runs in the browser you already have open. The files are not uploaded.

What merge means here

Merge puts pages from several PDFs into one download. The pages keep the size and rotation they already have. Nothing is compressed and nothing is resized.

That is a different job from Compress PDF (megabytes) and Resize PDF (paper size). Picking merge first saves a round of wondering why the file still will not fit an email box.

When merge is the right job

An application packet needs the cover letter, the form, and the ID scan in one file. A scanned book chapter sits in three exports. An invoice pack has to go out as a single attachment.

These are the files I would least like to upload somewhere. A contract, an ID scan, a bank letter. Merge is often the first sensitive-doc job. Merge PDF keeps the work on the device. The privacy page states the same rule. There is no account in the way.

Tray, not a cloud inbox

Many online merge tools take custody of the file, then sell TLS plus a timed delete as privacy. Timed delete is still custody. NixRey never takes the PDF.

On Merge PDF the workspace is a multi-file tray. Every page from every file sits in one strip under Pages · drag to reorder. Drag pages across files, not only inside one PDF. Remove extras before you merge.

Need another file after the first drop? Use + Add PDF on the file tray. New pages join the same strip, and you can drag them into place.

Jobs with 3000 or more pages switch to a file list. You can preview any page and reorder whole files, then merge. Per-page drag is available under 3000 pages.

This post stays PDF-first. It does not claim Word, Excel, or image merge on this page.

One file out, then Compress without re-upload

The download is one merged PDF. The files you dropped are still on the device. After merge you can Download, use Save As, or open Compress PDF with the merged file still on this device. No second upload loop to shrink the packet for email.

Before and after

If a PDF will not open in the tray, unlock it first with PDF Password when you know the password, then come back with the unlocked file. NixRey does not crack passwords.

If you need pieces back out later, Split PDF is the reverse job. If pages are the right content but the wrong paper size, go to Resize PDF.

To check that nothing was uploaded, press F12 and open the network panel while it runs. The page loads its own app code and a worker. Your PDFs are not in that list.

How to

  1. Open Merge PDF. Drop the PDFs you want to combine, or browse for them.
  2. Drag pages under Pages · drag to reorder across files. Remove extras. Use + Add PDF if you need more files.
  3. Press the merge control (it shows the page count, for example Merge 7 pages).
  4. Download the merged PDF, or use Save As. If the attachment still has to shrink, open Compress PDF with the same file on this device. The originals stay where they were.

FAQ

Do my PDFs get uploaded?

No. Merge runs in your browser. Your PDF files are not sent to a NixRey server. There is no account. A later delete on someone else’s server is not the same thing.

Is merge the same as compress?

No. Merge combines files. Compress makes a file smaller in megabytes. Use Compress PDF when size is the problem. After merge you can hop there without uploading again.

Can I change page size while merging?

No. Page size is Resize PDF. Merge keeps the pages you already have and puts them in one file.

What if a file is password protected?

Unlock it first when you know the password with PDF Password, then merge the unlocked file. NixRey does not crack passwords.

Can I split the result again later?

Yes. Split PDF is the reverse job when you need pieces back out.

What happens with very large page counts?

Jobs with 3000 or more pages use a file list. Preview any page, reorder whole files, then merge. Per-page drag is available under 3000 pages.
