Do my images get uploaded?

No. Compression runs in your browser with on-device codecs. Your photo files are not sent to a NixRey server. The page may load normal app/runtime code like any website. That is app/runtime code, not an upload of your image.

What is the difference between Quality, Target size, and Look the same?

Quality applies High, Med, or Low. Fine quality appears in Quality mode under More options and overrides the preset from 40 to 95. Target size aims under a KB budget. Chips are 100 KB, 200 KB, and 500 KB, or you can type a size. Large photos may be resized to hit it. Look the same uses Strict, Balanced, or Loose. The file may stay larger.

What formats can I compress?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and AVIF. You can keep the original format or switch output under More options. AVIF encode depends on browser support.

Why did my PNG barely shrink?

PNG is lossless. Quality presets have limited effect on PNG file size. Try JPEG, WebP, or AVIF under More options, or use Target size.

Does compression remove EXIF?

JPG, PNG, and WebP downloads can still carry location and camera tags. HEIC and AVIF do not keep those tags in the new file. Use Remove EXIF Data when you want them gone.

Can I compress many files at once?

Yes. Add a set and keep the ones you want. Download every included photo as a ZIP. Device memory sets the practical limit.

Are the size estimates exact?

No. The card says estimated sizes. Actual output may differ. Drag the compare handle before you download. Turn the magnifier on to inspect one spot.
