Should I use solid black or soft blur?

Use solid black when the secret must stay hidden. Strong pixelate is the next choice. Soft Gaussian looks natural, but research tools can sometimes reverse it. Prefer black for faces, plates, IDs, and addresses.

Is soft Gaussian blur irreversible?

No. Soft Gaussian can be reversed with research tools. It is not a permanent redaction. Use solid black when the detail must stay hidden.

Do my photos get uploaded?

No. Blur runs in your browser. Your photo is not sent to a NixRey server. The page may load normal app/runtime code like any website. That is app/runtime code, not an upload of your image.

Can I blur HEIC from my iPhone?

Yes, when this browser can read HEIC. If it cannot, convert with HEIC to JPG first, then blur the JPG here. GIF uses the first frame.

Can I blur many photos at once?

Yes. Add a batch, draw on each photo, and download one file or a ZIP of every included photo.

What about GPS and other EXIF data?

Blur hides pixels. JPG, PNG, and WebP downloads can still carry GPS and other camera tags. The warning sits at the top of Preview. Remove EXIF Data opens with this photo already loaded.
