Does counting run in this browser?
Yes. Text stays in this browser and is never uploaded. You can confirm in DevTools Network if you want.
What WPM rates are used?
Reading uses about 200 words per minute. Speaking uses about 130. These are illustration rates, not a stopwatch.
How do pages work?
Pages equal the word count divided by words per page. The default is 250. Change words per page and the page figure updates.
What are stop words?
Common words like the, a, and is. Exclude them to focus keyword density on meaningful terms. The top 10 list updates as you type.
How is text tokenized?
Whitespace splits the text into words. Numbers, emails, and URLs count as words.
Will counts match Microsoft Word?
This is not a Word twin. Counts can differ slightly from Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
